Your wedding day shouldn’t be anything less than perfect, which is why we highly recommend renting a luxury portable restroom for your special day. Luxury portable restrooms, or restroom trailers, provide your guests with a comfortable and enjoyable restroom experience.
What is a luxury portable restroom, and how does it differ from a standard portable toilet?
Understanding the difference between a luxury portable restroom and a portable toilet is key when deciding whether to get one or the other for your special day. Luxury restroom bathrooms, like our VIPee trailer, are designed for upscale and important events. Restroom trailers typically have running water, sinks, flushing toilets, climate control, and more. A standard portable toilet typically does not have running water, flushable toilets, or a sink. Both can work for your wedding day but require different expectations. Standard portable toilets are perfect for budget-conscious weddings.
How many restroom trailers do I need for my wedding?
Understanding the capacity of restroom trailers greatly varies based on the design of the units. It comes down to wastewater tank sizes and the number of guests you expect to have at your wedding. It’s best to ask the companies you’re renting for their recommendations. Here at Wasted, our 2-door VIPee Trailer can handle up to 250-350 guests, which is quite large for a 2-door restroom trailer. This is because our units use much less water than the standard restroom trailer, resulting in the ability to hold more waste, which allows us to accommodate more guests with a smaller trailer. Other companies might recommend an 8-stall unit for 250 guests.
Are luxury restroom trailers eco-friendly?
Here at Wasted*, we do things a little differently than the rest of the portable sanitation companies out there. Wasted* prides itself on its eco-focused mission and being a sustainability leader in the portable toilet industry. Over 30% of our fleet is outfitted with urine diversion technology (we are working towards outfitting our entire fleet as regulations get updated!). As a result, a portion of the waste we collect is brought back to our headquarters, processed, and turned into commercial-grade fertilizer to be used by our offtake partners and non-food-grade farms in the greater Burlington area. Our VIPee trailer, specifically, is outfitted with urine diversion technology as well, allowing us to recycle 100% of the urine collected during your rental – which we think is pretty cool.
Do luxury portable restrooms require a lot of space or special hookups?
Not necessarily! Most require units to be placed on pavement or gravel for easy access, the last thing you want to have happen is for a trailer to get stuck in a muddy field. That said, hookup requirements are dependent on the design of the luxury restroom you rent. The VIPee trailer has solar, but for longer events, we recommend plugging it into a standard wall outlet. Other vendors typically require a standard wall plug within 50 feet of where the unit is being placed.
Where should I place the luxury portable restrooms at my wedding venue?
When considering where to place your restroom trailer for your wedding, it’s important to keep in mind its hookup needs and the flow of your event. You don’t want our restroom to be in the center of the action, or take away from your special event. That’s why we recommend placing the unit along the side of your event. Along the side of a building, out of the general walking paths of your event is an ideal location. This ensures that the restroom trailer is out of sight, but still accessible for those who need it while meeting the hookup needs required for the unit to function properly.
