Ongrid vs Offgrid Waste Monitoring

Choosing the right waste management system for your setup

Offgrid Installation

Waste Infrastructure & Your Site

Now that the conveyor has separated the pee & poo, where does it go?

The key is matching each output with the best solution for your site. That’s why site-specific factors—like soil, access, usage, and environmental sensitivity—matter. We can help assess your setup and guide you toward the right waste monitoring option: Ongrid or Offgrid.

Ongrid Waste Monitoring:

All waste streams are contained above ground, with urine
collected in a 250-gallon IBC tote and solids stored in 55-gallon
barrels, or something similar depending on the site. This setup
allows them to be serviced easily by a Wasted* service truck,
making waste removal straightforward and efficient.

Efficient Servicing
Above-ground containment allows for quick removal by service trucks.

Circularity
Wasted* turns the essential nutrients in the collected urine into our
recycled fertilizers, like WeeBloom.

Flexible Permitting
Most sites will not need a permit since the waste is fully contained
above ground.

Remote Sensor Waste Monitoring starts at 39/month

The Offgrid system provides an easy and effective solution for
managing waste in remote or eco-sensitive areas. It uses natural
processes to safely return urine to the soil via a leach field,
replenishing nutrients and supporting the ecosystem. Meanwhile,
a dedicated chamber facilitates the decomposing of solids,
transforming waste into a natural resource. This system ensures environmental sustainability while offering a straightforward, low-
maintenance experience.

Environmental Harmony
Leverages natural processes to manage waste without chemicals
or additives.

Minimal Maintenance
Requires little ongoing effort thanks to self-sustaining systems.

Cost Effective
No recurring costs to remove the waste since it is being
reintroduced on site.

N/A
Costs include decomposition vault and leach field hardware.

Note that the Offgrid waste monitoring system typically
requires a permit, a cost that differs from county to county.
